In the afternoon, it was super hot and we were wondering what to do, when I thought maybe we should go catch a movie! Turns out WZ hasn’t been to the cinema since it was renovated. Actually, she hasn’t been there since we watched Kung Fu Hustle years ago (almost 5 years?)! We were hoping to watch Wolverine or Star Trek (I’ve already watched both), but we didn’t check cinema times, so we just went with the flow. We reached in time to get tickets for Night At The Museum 2! It was opening day summore! Woohoo! The cinema looks really nice now, compared to the old days where the floor was littered with kuaci seeds and rubbish and stank!
Before (taken from here):
(I don’t know why those things are there at the bottom right hand corner)
And now:
Close up on entrance:
Back part of the cinema with its own car park (RM2!):
The interior is really swanky now, but I guess the best part was that now even the lobby is air conditioned! (I can’t even remember if the theatre itself used to have air con!). Even the ushers and workers wear uniforms (white shirt with black vest) and they use the same system as GSC and TVG (I think) but unfortunately no student price or other types of discount). Now there are 4 screens (2 upstairs and 2 downstairs) as opposed to the original one big screen (seats covering the whole ground floor and the first floor which was half the size of the ground floor). Oddly shaped tho, because it was long with the walkway in the middle of the cinema (maybe they wanted to divide us?) instead of the sides, and also was really long! We were sitting halfway from the screen and even then the screen looked really small! So after we figured nobody else was coming (the seats have numberings now too!)
Night At The Museum 2 was really funny (although the first one was better, me thinks). Hank Azaria was hilarious! And looking at all those museums in Washington DC made me wanna go there!!! So cool! After the movie we were ushered out…of the building! haha! Just like in Alamanda! They must save a ton of money by doing that! We exited the back which was pretty convenient if you parked in their carpark.
Suddenly we decided to go visit our teacher (used to teach us KH, and we used to hangout in her special room anytime we had the opportunity!) so we went to The Store to get chocolates, and then went to her house (but not before we had cendol! hehe). We talked about school, politics and all kinds of stuff until it became dark and we could hardly see each other but our teacher didn’t switch on the lights until we decided it was getting late and it was time to leave. After we said goodbye, we were still talking when we were already outside and it took a few rounds of goodbye before we finalyy left
Cendol! Never missed an opportunity to eat cendol! This one is without pulut (RM1.30, but it used to be RM1!) and the one with pulut its RM1.50.
Yummy!!
After bugging our teacher we went back, rested and then waited for my sis to call so that we could go and have dinner. We were so tired we just sat in front of the TV. Then suddenly my sis said she can’t make it!!!! Wahlauehhh!! Sampai hati dia! But its orait, we had dinner at what my mom calls “Sitiawan glutton square” which is opposite the wet market. We had Char Kuay Teow! I think its one of the most unhealthy food you can eat but at that point it didn’t really matter!
Pic taken with my handphone camera only because I didn’t have the energy to lug around the DSLR and also I didn’t wanna look like a crazy person taking pics of my food with a DSLR (which I did a few days later!).
The journey is not over yet! More stories to come :)
