Futsal rocks!

On Tuesday Night my CG went to play futsal. I've never played before, and I've only seen people play it on that show Gol & Gincu (lame as it was, it was quite entertaining!) It was really fun! We didn't bother to warm up, and 18 people were everywhere, kicking and chasing people. The interesting thing is, one person managed to get injured even before the game started! Wahahahaahhaa! Minor injuries la ok, and that injured person kept on playing! Hooray! Haven't sweat that much in a long time..it was really fun! =D Definitely will be going to play futsal again!

On Friday after my Fluids lab the same injured person wanted to go for McD's breakfast thingys (u know, the one where u use the coupons :P) and also do her laundry so we went, ate, and came back with clean warm clothes. Then that fella cannot sit at home quietly so we decided to explore The Pavilion, the latest shopping mall to hit Jalan Bukit Bintang. I was surfing around and found out that where The Pavilion stands now used to be Bukit Bintang Girls School (BBGS), before it changed its name to SMK Seri Bintang Utama, relocated to Cheras and became lame. Hahahaha. Anyway that place is so new and there's lots of renovations still going on, you can smell the dust! ewww...not very healthy..something unexpected happened though, at around 3.50pm, there was a blackout! We were on an escalator and when it suddenly stopped, and we almost fell! Luckily we were holding the handrail so we didn't fall. Never thought that would happen. Never thought about an escalator suddenly stopping and inertia causing me to fall. Lesson here: always hold the handrail when you're on escalators. After quite some time the blackout still lasted, so we headed back to Times Square (we parked the car there). Overall, The Pavilion is a nice place, with 7 floors and high end stores (not surprising, looking at the locality) . Won't be going back there soon, but maybe someday to have a look again when all the stores are open. Here are some pics of the place (started snapping after the blackout, good thing it happened during the day!)

I Got It From My Mama

Artist: Will.I.Am
Song: I Got It From My Mama

Lyrics:

Ladies… x3
Here we go…

Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
I got it from my mama.
I got it from my mama.
I got it from my mama.
I got it got it got got it…

Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
I got it from my mama.
I got it from my mama.
I got it from my mama.
I got it got it…

Honey lookin’ good from her head to her toe.
Beauty overload, body out of control.
She twenty-four, she could be a model.
So beautiful, also natural.
Mommy lookin’ good from her head to her feet.
She forty-four, but she still lookin’ sweet.
And you can tell her daughter aint even at her peak.
Cause her mama lookin’ so hot, packin’ that heat.
So be a good girl and thank your mama.
She make me steamin’ like a sauna.
Look out, look out, here she come now.
Look out, look out, here she come.

Girl, your beauty is a sensation.
You sittin’ in, in a temptation.
I never knew a girl could shine like a sun.
You better thank your mama, cause girl, you the one.
We should have a date of celebration.
Celebration god’s best creation.
Girl you got a beautiful vibration.
Everyday should be your birthday, Hun.
You make the guys all dumb.
Maybe cause you’re blessed with the beautiful buns.
Maybe cause your beauty keep the dudes on sprung,
Wondering just where you got that from?
Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
I got it from my mama.
I got it from my mama.
I got it from my mama.
I got it got it got got it…

Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
You can tell all this right here,
I got all this from my mama…
All of this stuff right here,
I got all this from my mama.

Ladies... x7
Here we go…

If the girl real fine,
Nine times out of ten,
She fine just like her mama.

If the girl real pretty,
Nine times out of ten,
She pretty like her mama.

And if her mama real ugly,
I guarantee ya she gon’ be ugly like her mama.

And if her mama real ugly,
I guarantee ya she gon’ be ugly like her mama.

If the girl real sexy,
Nine times out of ten,
She sexy like her mama.

If the girl real hot,
Nine times out of ten,
She hot just like her mama.

And if her mama real ugly,
I guarantee ya she gon’ be ugly like her mama.

And if her mama real ugly,
I guarantee ya she gon’ be ugly like her mama, like her mama…

Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
Baby where’d you get your body from?
Tell me where’d you get your body from.
You can tell all this right here,
I got all this from my mama…
All of this stuff right here,
I got all this from my mama.

If you pretty, make some noise.
If you pretty, make some noise.
If you pretty, make some noise.
Make some noise, make some noise.

Ladies… x4

50 years of Independence...

...doesn't really mean much to me. Mainly because I don't really know what it was like to be ruled by the British. Sometimes it makes me wonder what it would be like if we are still ruled by the British. Probably won't have this much food around. Hahaha..anyway I spent Merdeka eve reading blogs on Malaysian politics n stuff on Nathaniel Tan's blog and Marina Mahathir's blog. There are so many things happening in our country and somehow the important ones escape attention. I've said this many times before that I hate poltics. Mainly because it's such a stupid thing. All people want nowadays are power and money. NOthing else matters anymore. And then we get all the so-called leaders who say dumb things, mainly because they're not-very-educated. Honestly. Seriously. We have the keris-waving leader, and the blogger-catching leaders to the if-you-don't-like-it-then-get-out-of-Malaysia leader. We wonder what's happening to the world when in our own country these leaders are a wonder in their own right. I'm pretty sure if you ask around most people would jump at the opportunity to migrate. It's not that our country sucks, its a beautiful country. But what pisses us off is the fact that we have terrible leaders. Not to say that the grass is super green on the other side, other countries have their issues too, but I think their leaders are not this dumb. The one thing that makes us special and makes us proud of ourselves is the fact that we are multi-racial. But somehow this is now our dividing factor. Everything now boils down to your race, and even more, religion. Nobody is safe anymore. The constitution has been twisted, leaders are becoming more religious (not a bad thing if they weren't so hardcore freaky creepy everyone-must-wear-tudung kind of people).

But then again, maybe we get lousy leaders because the people who actually should be leaders stay away from politics because well, basically, politics suck. Even if you start off with good intentions you end up sucked into the political vortex and before you even realize it, you're in too deep.

If only leaders would do what they're supposed to do. Like increase growth, development and so on. I guess their life is so boring that they have to go into corruption, or make the longest satay or biggest mooncake or something like that.

Not many people do things to make others happy anymore. Most do what they do because of what they get out of it, which is not wrong, but is it really satisfactory?

I can only hope someday I can do something to change the things around me, if not the world.

Oh my, I've been ranting again.

Happy Merdeka people!
50 years, don't play play!

Le Festin (From Ratatouille)

Lyrics to Le Festin, sung by Camille

Un voleur, solitaire, est triste à nourrir (this is a pun off of 'triste à mourrir' and 'nourrir'; see here)

The Feast (translation of Le Festin)

The dreams of lovers are like good wine
They give joy or even sorrow
Weakened by hunger, I am unhappy
Stealing on my way everything I can
Because nothing in life is free.

Hope is a dish too soon finished
I am accustomed to skipping meals
A thief alone and hungry is sad enough to die (This isn't a direct translation at all, but it's the best way I could think of to explain the pun)
As for us, I am bitter, I want to succeed
Because nothing in life is free.

Never will they tell me that I cannot shoot for the stars;
Let me fill you with wonder, let me take flight
We will finally fea . . . st.

The party will finally start
And bring out the bottles, the troubles are over
I'm setting the table; tomorrow is a new life
I am happy at the idea of this new destiny
A life spent in hiding, and now I'm finally free
The feast is on my path
A life spent in hiding, and now I'm finally free
The feast is on my path. . . .

I love Frenchhhhhhhhhhhh =)

Need to do my work

I need to do some work. Got quite a few assignments and gotta research on a project, but I haven't really dug into it yet. Did a little info digging but haven't really started on the sketches. Somehow when you're at home work doesn't make sense. Hahahahaha. Anyway I really needed this break. Been so stressed doin all kinds of crap I was beginning to feel lifeless. After coming home, everything else goes away, and I get to read, play the piano (which I suck at) and sleep as long as I want (yeah i know that's not good :P)

Been having a good rest, feeling energized already and looking forward to Penang this weekend! =)

Perspective

Oh my, it has been over a month since I blogged!! hmmm...been really busy...lotsa assigments n tests n stuff to do! I'm so glad the mid sem break is here!!! =)

Just arrived home at around 5pm, then had to do lotsa cleaning cause the floor was so dusty! Parents were in KL so I was home alone for a few hours. went back with WZ to Sitiawan first yesterday then followed my sis home today. She n her friends came to lepak in Ipoh. HAhaha..since Sitiawan no entertainment. :P

Anyway the title of today's post is perspective because it has been a long time since I drove past small towns and so on. Usually its just highway after highway, and then I reach Ipoh. Last time I had to go through Bidor and Teluk Intan and so on. So it has been quite a while since I looked at old buildings in small towns and spacious paddy fields. It made me think. I'm so used to the hustle n bustle of KL, what would happen if I got a job in a really small town? Hmmmm....I'd probably be bored to death. Hahahaha. Even though I'm a boring person (sometimes lazy to go out, antisocial, not very exciting) I think I would be travelling alot. Out of that town. HAhahahahaha. Anyway, its always good to look at things from a different perspective. Gives you ideas that you never thought you'd think of. So, keep thinking!

milk eggs vodka!

Sorry for the lack of updates for the past few weeks, but I've been out alot and whenever I'm at the computer I'm just busy doing something!

Anyway last Saturday I went to Borders in Times Square and bought a book titled "milk eggs vodka", which is written by Bill Keaggy. I've been looking out for this book ever since I read about it on Reader's Digest, and when I got my hands on the book I was excited! Plus there was a 20% discount so I was very pleased! :P Why I'm so excited? It's cause its a book that's categorized under humor (I don't think I have ever owned a book that's in that category!), and this guy has collected a ton of people's grocery lists and sorted them out and chose those really crazy ones and commented on them, and included interesting facts on the side. It's a book you would want to read when you're bored or want to laugh at people's spelling. Oops....was that mean? hahahaha...but at the end you feel that grocery lists should be safely guarded and not left in shopping carts!

I bought 3 other books, and they're so thick I dunno when I should start reading! (especially since my assignments and work start to pile up.) Gah!

Gotta go do my lab report...

Australiaaaa

So 7 days and lots of rain later, I'm back to blog about the Australia trip!Sorry it took so long, but I always think of what to put on my blog but I'm too lazy to type it out...i should get a "instant blog thought typer" or something like that...:P

There are alot of things about Australia that I learned and experienced. Among the first few things that I learned as soon as I arrived there (I reached there about 7.30pm) are:

1. sitting in the back seat? Strap up!
2. It gets dark by 5pm and there's no nightlife (what?! no way!)
3. Petrol prices are not fixed, so everyday there's a new price, and different stations have different prices.
4. Queensland state is experiencing severe drought. It's been 2 years and the dam levels are around 18% left only! So...no need to bathe!
5. The people are really friendly at counters: they greet you with "Hi, how are you".

And not forgetting what I missed while being abroad for 2 weeks:

1. Our PM getting married (really?? no hint also man!!...or maybe i din read the papers :P)
2. It's been raining alot!

We stayed at my mom's cousin's place in The Gap, Brisbane (The Gap is the suburb, which is almost like a taman but not a taman...) for the first few days we explored Brisbane (we went to the city center, museum, shopping mall..etc), and then we went to Toowoomba where my mom's friend whom she hasn't seen for 30 odd years resides. Australia, or rather Queensland is a really nice place. Their houses are one of a kind and they have loads of space! And then we went back to Brisbane, and then went off to the Gold Coast(one week)! Surfer's Paradise, that is. We rented a car for one week (me n sis couldn't drive cause insurance is more expensive for drivers under 25) and drove to:
1. Australian Outback Spectacular - awesome show! With a 3 course dinner samo! A must go to see life in the outback.
2. Movieworld - Cool place, with all the rides and cute buildings and movie characters and shows!
3. SeaWorld - Oh so many animals and great dolphin shows, fun rides and many more shows!
4. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary - It rained the day we went there (hasn't rained for a long time if im not mistaken), and all the kangaroos n koalas were wet. It's a really big place, but we saw alot of kangaroos only, I think the other animals were hiding from the rain.

After the Gold Coast, we went back to Brisbane, then the uncle we stayed with drove us to Mount Coot-tha. We got to see a whole lot of Brisbane from up there. The next day we went to the Australia Zoo. Yeah, that place The Crocodile Hunter comes from. After visiting the zoo I really admire their efforts to preserve the animal kingdom, but I still think he shouldn't have bullied animals when he made the tv series. There was a section under the crocoseum that was dedicated to Steve Irwin, displaying the stuff people sent after his death, condolence messages n stuff.

The next day (Sunday) we hung around in Brisbane, explored the area, especially Queen Street Mall. It's basically rows of shops and where i think it used to be a road, its now a road for people! With plants n chairs and info kiosks. I really love their bus service. They're organized and people actually line up over there! Their buses look like our RapidKL buses, but are powered by natural gas! So bye-bye to black smoke and hello to clean air! Oh and their city is so clean! Really! So clean and developed and organized! I would definitely move there if I had the chance. Although things there are a little expensive (branded clothes are super expensive but they have sales of up to 70%!!), I think if you're earning in Australian dollars it shouldn't be too bad. I think most of the items are more expensive now because of the drought. On the last day (Monday 11th June) we went to DFO, which stands for Direct Factory Outlet. It's near the Brisbane Airport and as the name says, is where they have almost all the brands you can think of. And when we went it was the mid season sale so alot of things were on sale, and we just shopped till we dropped! :P

On Monday night it was goodbye Brisbane and we headed home. It was a night flight and I didn't get much sleep (in between they serve snacks n breakfast and I ate em all :P) reached home around 2pm on Tuesday and that was the day I slept at 4pm until 5am the next morning!

It was a really good vacation, and if anyone plans to go to Australia do let me know, cause I absolutely wanna go there again! (To Sydney?)

Will post up pictures later, took more than 1GB of pics and I haven't sorted em out yet!

Toodles!

I'm baaaaaaaaccccccckkkkkkk!!

Back from Australia, the great continent or outback or whatever :P It's a really nice country! I didn't wanna come back!!

Got loads of stuff to clear and clothes to wash. After we came back we had to clean the floor (got dead bugs and it was dusty) and then unpack and it was so tiring!! I slept from 4pm to 5am this morning!! Wahlau!!

Will update on Australia soon. Just let me recover from travelling...=)

Banana Java Chip Frappucino!!!

That was my breakfast. Hahaha..A VERY EXPENSIVE breakfast, that is. RM16.80 for venti! Pokai man! But it's all good..=) Went to Ipoh Parade's Novelhut to sell some books. (After sending off my aunt from TI who was here visiting for a few days) Managed to get RM18.00 (dad said we could keep whatever we got and it only managed to cover the drink..sad sad...). But it's all good. Hehehe...after selling the books we did some window shopping. Nothing interesting happened the rest of the day, just coming back home and getting excited about Australia! teehee!

Been listening to 2 songs recently, one Not Ready to Make Nice by the Dixie Chicks and Never Again by Kelly Clarkson. Damn cunted songs wei! hahahaha.

Hmm..so another season of American Idol ended. Not bad I think, considering how I never really followed the show, I learned about Sanjaya, Indian guy who I think with training can sing much better. He's not bad or horrible at singing, but I guess not very expressive with his voice..like he's afraid his voice is gonna run away or something...hahaha..so after watching the season finale I searched faithful Youtube and got a whole bunch of videos of his performances...hehe..see, don't have to follow the show ma..just watch the finale and search YouTube for everything else :P

Anyway gonna listen to more Kelly and Dixie Chicks. And maybe Sheryl Crow (Good is Good) =)

Why i dislike politics

So I read on 2 ppl's blog about the recent parliament kekecohan (see la got paper never read go n read ppl's blog :P) In this article its mentioned that Lim Kit Siang posted the video on his blog and also on YouTube. Which is when I went n sampated around YouTube and searched for "Malaysian Parliament" and wow! So many videos! Some interesting ones:

1. Samy Vellu shouting in Parliament(to do with the tol raise)
2. Two Sexist BN mps- "Batu Gajah MP tiap-tiap bulan pun bocor"

and the best of all

"You tak suka you keluar dari Malaysia!"
Imagine, people representing us shouting that to other leaders. Sad man. Something to do with Malaysia being an Islamic country.

Oh and the comments are funny too. Some don't make sense cause their command of the language is just so bad, but they still know how to come to YouTube. Not bad leh! haha!

At the end of the article its said " The Dewan was adjourned sine dine on Thursday." I think they meant sine die. Wanna use word check first mah! Tsk tsk.

Enjoy!

p.s. Malaysia gonna be 50 years old, but the people are still dumb. How? Vision 2020 can reach ah?
